“Healing yourself is connected to healing others” ~ Yoko Ono
The Rhythm of Healing by Victor Milianti, LNMT,CST
It is an interesting phenomenon. When a person comes to a point when doing what they have been doing for years and years no longer provides relief or helps one to feel better. What once was a nice thing to do has become a source of pain. That’s usually when the letting go process becomes the better feeling. It’s not that we are bad or ignorant, or so self-abusive and then all of sudden so committed to health. What I see is something I can describe as a rhythm. We have all we need, and more. I’m not talking about your bank account. I’m referring to all the innate ingredients that make us a part of life, an eternal expanding bio-cosmic experience. We find challenges, desires to summon that life force to flow. You always feel better when you have something to accomplish, even if it’s little. As we move more and more outside of our self we often find more things to get upset about. This is a way to provide a challenge. The rhythm begins. This can be a small rhythm or a longer one. For instance when your life gets so difficult that it becomes unhealthy, or is crippling, or we are feeling worse and worse, then we start letting go. That is when we move closer towards our self again. No longer resisting our larger nature of pure love, we expand into the flow of well-being that was there the entire time. Only now we’ve grown, and have had more to experience and have lived through some challenges. The expansion affects us through and through. Some call this healing. Some call it enlightenment. Some call it thriving. Anyone who is close to you when you are going thru this feels better just by your new vibration of love that you are moving towards. Your children feel it and your parents feel it. Your pets know. The old ways of wanting to control others and run the world according to your beliefs are replaced by an appreciation of self-acceptance, and a knowing that it is all working as it was designed to. People see your change. They feel your new resonance. They sense that you have something that is more than ideas or words. It’s recognition.
When you’re body is in resistance, not working as it could, we call it pain and dis-ease. You body is a living picture of your patterns of beliefs, your experiences and feelings about them. As your process of moving towards your self-acceptance accelerates, the resistance to being who you are diminishes, and well- being arrives. Well-being inspires others to feel better as well. It is contagious! I can’t tell you how many times a day people see my dog, Tucker and remark at how peaceful and calm he always seems to be. Perhaps Tucker has no ability to pretend that he is supposed to be anything other than himself.
Healing is a spectrum of experience that is about re connection. It is close to the end of the spectrum of separation from self, on the way back. That’s a wonderful place to be, because it’s on the way to better and more!
